What Attracts You

In today's world, men are bombarded by images of women that are ultra beautiful and totally unattainable.

They see images of movie stars that are made up by professionals, have personal trainers to keep them fit and attractive, and are photographed in perfect lighting on perfect sets.

Men's magazines offer another example of women that are too good to be true.

Their bodies are fat free, blemish free and have not a single imperfection to mar their beauty. Men see these women every day.

It is no wonder that they sometimes have trouble being attracted to mere mortal women who don't look perfect all the time, may need to lose five pounds and do not have the perfect hair, body and face that men have been conditioned to expect by the various sources of media.

So what attracts males to females and vice versa? What do everyday women having going for them when it comes to attracting men, as well as the other way around? Some of the mystery of attraction can be traced to the age old tactics that have been around for a long time.

Flirting is one of the most basic ways to attract another person. Women smile at men they think are attractive, lift their eyebrows and then look down and away. They often giggle when they look up again to make sure that the man is looking at them. This is a flirting tactic that has gone on for hundreds of years, and it seems to be effective.

When men flirt, they puff out their chest a bit, stand up tall and give the woman that is the object of their attention the eye. Eye language is another old form of flirting. If you find a woman looking at you intensely and her pupils dilate, it is sign of definite interest.

This intentional eye contact usually provokes one of two responses in men. The desire to approach the woman and further the flirtation, or walk away is sometimes an easy decision to make, and sometimes it is difficult.

Men have the opportunity to walk up and start a conversation or show their disinterest by breaking eye contact and physically moving away.

Another thing that plays into attraction between males and females is scent. There are ongoing arguments about whether or not humans produce pheromones that attract the opposite sex.

The thing is, if you don't like the way a woman smells, men are usually not able to continue being attracted to her. This can be an aversion to her perfume or to the actual subtle scent of her.

On the other hand, if you like the way she smells while wearing her perfume, if the scent of her seems to intoxicate you slightly, then you will most likely pursue your interest in her.

Most people actually unconsciously know what type of person they will be attracted to. Your body knows who will arouse you sexually, and who you might end up falling in love with.

The next time you are scanning the crowd for someone who piques your interest, pay attention to what happens next. It might give you an insight into what attracts you.
